The Black Keys announced a 10th anniversary reissue of their landmark 2010 album, Brothers. Brothers (Deluxe Remastered Anniversary Edition) arrives in the U.S. and Canada on December 18 and the rest of the world on January 1 via Nonesuch Records.
The reissue — arriving in 7 inch box set, a 2-LP set and CD formats — will feature the previously unreleased songs “Keep My Name Outta Your Mouth” and “Black Mud Part II” along with bonus track “Chop and Change.” The deluxe edition also comes with a 60-page book featuring photos from the archives, new liner notes written by famed rock journalist David Fricke and a limited-edition poster. Additionally, a press release indicated that Brothers (Deluxe Remastered Anniversary Edition) will be the first in a series of archival releases.
The Black Keys — vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney — recorded most of Brothers at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama.
“You can feel it if you’re a musician, the great things that happened in a place,” Auerbach said in a statement. “Half of the thing that we love is in our minds, but when we go to these shrines, it gives us inner strength. It feels magical—this is where the music was born.”
Brothers would go on to nab the band three Grammys and marked their breakout record with Rolling Stone calling it “a masterpiece” and Uncut hailing The Black Keys as “one of the best rock ‘n’ roll bands on the planet.”
