The String Cheese Incident, Bonnie Raitt & More Aboard For ‘Love You Madly – A Stream For Santa Cruz Fire Relief’

80

The String Cheese Incident, Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs are among the artists on the initial lineup for Love You Madly – A Stream For Santa Cruz Fire Relief. The livestream special, which aims to raise awareness and funds for the recovery effort that continues in the wake of the devastating CZU Lightning Complex Fire, premieres on December 5 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT via nugs.tv.

Sammy Hagar, Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Joe Satriani, Los Lobos, Colin Hay, Rogue Wave, Laurie Lewis, T Sisters, Victor Krummenacher, Twiddle and Prairie Prince round out the initial lineup of musical acts set to appear as part of Love You Madly – A Stream For Santa Cruz Fire Relief. Famed rock writer Ben Fong-Torres, radio personality Bonnie Simmons and Santa Cruz journalist Wallace Baine are among the guest emcees who will host the 90-minute special.

All donations will benefit the Fire Response Fund managed by partner organization Community Foundation Santa Cruz County (CFSCC). So far, CFSCC has granted $600,000+ from the fund to help the recovery process. The wildfires led the evacuation of 77,000 people over an area of 80,000+ acres with over 900 structures destroyed. Donate directly via CFSCC’s website.

“We recognize the arts as a critical tool to supporting those impacted by the fires and all of this music is just one representation of the outpouring of love and support for our community,” said Love You Madly producer Jon Luini in a statement. “It’s really incredible to see these artists take time to share personal messages along with their music. It helps to lift spirits, raise funds that go directly into helping the long road to recovery, but especially makes for a great virtual concert to enjoy!”

An online auction featuring such items as a guitars autographed by Hagar and Satriani will be launched soon. Stay tuned for additional lineup announcements.
