Guitarist Trey Anastasio unveiled pro-shot video featuring his performance of “There’s A Path Above” with Ghosts Of The Forest during this past Friday’s The Beacon Jams livestream concert at The Beacon Theatre in New York City. Anastasio devoted the entire show to material from the April 2019 Ghosts Of The Forest tour and was joined by an expanded Rescue Squad Strings lineup for a number of songs, including “There’s A Path Above.”
The guitarist was backed by his Phish band mate, drummer Jon Fishman, as well as longtime Trey Anastasio Band members vocalist Jennifer Hartswick, bassist Tony Markellis and keyboardist Ray Paczkowski plus Broadway stars Celisse and Jo Lampert for the Friday, November 6 concert. Violinist Katie Kresek, Maxim Moston, Phil Payton and Mary Jo Stilp, viola players Monica Davis and Rachel Golub and cellists Eleanor Norton and Anja Wood formed the Rescue Squad Strings on Friday.
“There’s A Path Above” was the eighth song played by the ensemble during Trey’s fifth of eight The Beacon Jams performances. It was the first song of the night Anastasio hadn’t performed publicly in any format since the Ghosts Of The Forest tour ended at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California on April 20, 2019.
