Amanda Shires and Jason Isbell performed for Paste Studio On The Road. Shires and Isbell recorded the session from photographer Michael Weintrob’s Instrumenthead gallery in Nashville.
Renowned keyboardist Peter Levin played piano alongside Shires on fiddle and Isbell on acoustic guitar. As it was an Amanda Shires performance the trio focused on material from Amanda’s catalog beginning with “Swimmer” from her 2011 album, Carrying Lightning. Shires and Isbell would then duet on “Leave It Alone.” The trio continued with “The Problem” before “The Hotel Lobby Band” paid tribute to the late great Texas singer-songwriter Billy Joe Shaver with his “Live Forever.”
