While it may have been the weekend, Dave Grohl and his producer Greg Kurstin took no days off and released two more installments of the Hanukkah Sessions series. For these two videos, released on nights three and four of Hanukkah on Saturday and Sunday, the dynamic duo covered songs by Mountain and Peaches.

This year, Grohl chose to forgo his typical Christmas cover tradition and will instead record eight different songs by eight different Jewish artists for the eight nights of Hanukkah. With him is Foo Fighters producer Greg Kurstin and together they have already tackled “Sabotage” by the Beastie Boys as well as Drake‘s “Hotline Bling“.

For night three of the Festival of Lights, Grohl and Kurstin took on Mountain’s hit, “Mississippi Queen”. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, and that’s exactly what Grohl did when a cowbell apparently wasn’t available for the iconic intro, so instead, he used a metal cup duct-taped to hell. Kurstin once again dons a keyboard to imitate the song’s guitar and does an impressive job at mimicking the familiar, fuzzed-out riff. In the video’s comment section the duo notes,

Talk about making a mountain out of a mohel … named Leslie Weinstein at his bris, the singer of our next band built a wailing wall of guitar as Leslie West. Check out our take on a track from Leslie’s monolithic band, MOUNTAIN.

Conversely, on night four the two musicians made their most off-the-wall choice yet with Peaches’ “F— The Pain Away”. Here, Kurstin’s keyboards are the ideal tool to capture the song’s familiar techno-wave introduction. Then Grohl comes in with the opening lyrics that just scream Hanukkah, “Suckin’ on my titties like you wanted me.” As for this choice, the duo said,

Drake’s not the only musical Jew from Canada…tonight we feature a Canadian rock G-Dess…who coincidentally grew up around the corner from a Canadian Jewish rock G-D (G-ddy Lee). Straight out the mikvah, here’s Peaches!

Watch Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin cover Mountain and Peaches for the third and fourth nights of the Hanukkah Sessions.
