St. Vincent shared a cover of the Paul McCartney-penned Beatles song “Martha My Dear.” The performance came during “The Ally Coalition’s 7th Annual Talent Show” livestream benefit concert, which took place on December 21.
“Martha My Dear” appears on The Beatles’ 1968 self-titled double LP, aka The White Album. The song is an ode to McCartney’s beloved Old English Sheepdog, Martha. Bleachers lead singer Jack Antonoff organized the benefit livestream for the LGBTQ equality organization The Ally Coalition, which also saw performances from Lana Del Rey, Maggie Rogers and more. For her Ally Coalition talent show performance, St. Vincent, the nom de plume of singer-songwriter Annie Clark, sang “Martha My Dear” solo playing what sounds like a guitar.
