The White Stripes have released The White Stripes Greatest Hits, marking the band’s first album release since 2007. The 26-song album released digitally worldwide on Friday along with a new music video for the record’s lead track, “Let’s Shake Hands”.

Spanning the entirety of the band’s career, The White Stripes Greatest Hits comprises of Jack and Meg White‘s most popular originals, like “Seven Nation Army”, “Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground”, and “Hotel Yorba”, as well as some of their most notable covers. Covers on the band’s first-ever official anthology include Son House‘s “Death Letter”, from the Stripes’ De Stijl album, Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene”, Corky Robbins and Patti Page‘s “Conquest”, and Burt Bacharach‘s “I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself”.

In addition to a worldwide digital release, a 180-gram vinyl hit record store shelves across the United States on Friday. Each vinyl purchase will come with a special item corresponding with one of the songs on the album,  depending on the store and while supplies last. Furthermore, a limited number of stores are hosting a raffle for a vinyl test pressing of the album while fans who purchase at Target will receive a limited edition slip mat. CD copies of The White Stripes Greatest Hits are available now in the U.S. and Canada, with a worldwide release of CD and vinyl (including Canada) scheduled for February 12th, 2021.

Upon announcing the album back in October, The White Stripes shared an unreleased live cut of their Elephant hit, “Ball and Biscuit”. A month later, the band then released a brand new music video for “Apple Blossom”, along with the album’s track list. Finally, along with the album release on Friday, the band shared yet another new music video for an old favorite, “Let’s Shake Hands”.

The M. Wartella-directed music video saw production from Dream Factory Animation and included live clips from The White Stripes’ Under Great White Northern Lights documentary, directed by Emmett Malloy and released back in 2009—roughly two years after the band’s final show. This music video contains many of the signature visual themes the Stripes have come to be known for over the years, including a distinct red, white, and black color scheme, peppermints, black and white video, and colorful cartoon animation overlays.
