Menahan Street Band premiered a new single, “The Duke.” The track will appear on the Brooklyn-based soul and funk outfit’s upcoming album, The Exciting Sounds Of The Menahan Street Band, set for release on February 26 through Daptone Records.
Menahan Street Band — known as the backing group for the late great soul artists Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley — detailed their first album in nine years last month and also shared the single “Midnight Morning.” The Exciting Sounds Of The Menahan Street Band is “actualized with a mingling of hip hop, rock and roll, funk, and all of the eccentricities in between. Stand out tracks include the lead single ‘Midnight Morning,’ followed by ‘The Duke,’” as per Daptone’s website.
