Run The Jewels Share “Ooh La La” Remix Featuring Mexican Institute Of Sound, Santa Fe Klan [Listen]

124

Run The Jewels have teamed up with electronic producer Mexican Institute of Sound and rapper Santa Fe Klan for a fresh take on “Ooh La La”.

The new remix of the song, which was initially released last spring as a stand-alone single in collaboration with Greg Nice and DJ Premier, presents an obvious update compared to the original, thanks in large part to the rhythm inspired by Mexican folk tempos–along with new horn parts often heard in mariachi. There’s no doubt here that Mexican Institute of Sound’s Mexican folk music roots played a big role in influencing the track’s updated production.

This is the second new remix shared by Run The Jewels in the past two months. They had previously teamed up with British rock duo Royal Blood for a new take on “The Ground Below” released in December. The song had first appeared on the group’s 2020 RTJ4 studio album.
