Big Thief frontwoman Adrianne Lenker today unveiled a video for “forwards beckon rebound.” Lenker self-directed the visual for “forwards beckon rebound,” a track featured on her 2020 solo album songs.
songs was one of two solo albums Lenker put out via 4AD last October. Both songs and instrumentals were recorded by Adrianne at a cabin in Westhampton, Massachusetts shortly after the pandemic began. As the names imply, songs shows off the lyrical side of Lenker’s songwriting while instrumentals is composed of two instrumental tracks.
Adrianne Lenker tapped V Haddad to produce and Adam Gundersheimer to serve as cinematographer for the “forwards beckon rebound” visual. The clip was filmed as the sun went down at Wild Heart Ranch in Joshua Tree. Lenker dances throughout and at times acts out the song’s lyrics.
