Boston Calling Organizers Cancel 2021 Festival

87

The 2021 Boston Calling music festival has been canceled due to the pandemic. Organizers announced the decision “after exploring all possible options for hosting Boston Calling this year” and are aiming to bring the festival back over Memorial Day Weekend 2022.

Boston Calling 2021 was set for May 22 – 24 at the Harvard Athletic Complex. This year will mark the second in a row without the festival, as Boston Calling 2020 was canceled last March in the early days of the pandemic. Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against The Machine were supposed to headline last year’s event.

Read a note from Boston Calling organizers below:

After exploring all possible options for hosting Boston Calling this year, we have made the difficult decision in conjunction with local and state authorities to cancel the 2021 festival. The health and safety of our entire community is always our top priority, and there was no appropriate scenario under which we could provide the Boston Calling experience you love and deserve.

While we are sad to go another year without the festival, we have set our sights on 2022 – mark your calendar for Memorial Day weekend. We look forward to sharing more information around headliners, lineup and vendors as we get closer to the 2022 festival.

The refund process is laid out here. Options include rolling over tickets to 2022 or full refunds. Those requesting refunds must do so by March 8 at 5 p.m. ET.
