Vocalist Son Little continues his evolution on “Phantom Killer,” a new single recently released through ANTI- Records. The artist born Aaron Earl Livingston once again goes heavy on auto-tune as he did on “Goddess Wine,” a track Son Little put out last October.
Both “Phantom Killer” and “Goddess Wine” mark a departure from the more traditional soul and R&B sounds that dominated his 2020 album, aloha. “Phantom Killer” also includes swirls of acoustic guitar and lo-fi percussion tracks.
Son Little produced “Phantom Killer” after working with an outside producer, Renaud Letang, on aloha. Little tapped Rob Fidel to illustrate and animate a lyric video for his first single of 2021.
