The Revivalists delivered their own Valentine’s Day message of love on Sunday with a remote cover of “To Love Somebody” by the Bee Gees. This new, remote cover comes after the band included another rendition of the track on its 2020 EP, Made In Muscle Shoals.

Lifted from Bee Gees’ 1967 debut album, Bee Gees 1st, “To Love Somebody” is an oft-covered track that has been recorded by such iconic singers as Janis JoplinRod StewartNina Simone, and many more. Revivalists frontman Dave Shaw adds himself to that list as his tender vocals take center stage in the cover. Meanwhile, the rest of the band files in behind one by one and fills out the soundscape with a gradual buildup of instrumentation.

The band attached a holiday message to the cover in the video’s description,

We’re holding our loved ones close, and sending out love to friends we haven’t been able to see in far too long. Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us to all of y’all.
