Yonder Mountain String Band recently released a remote video for “Idaho.” The Yonder classic appears on the jamgrass pioneers’ 2002 album, Town By Town.
“Idaho” is one of YMSB’s oldest tunes, having debuted the number in Boulder — just down the mountain from where the quartet originated in Nederland, Colorado — on this date in 1999, as per Phantasy Tour. The quarantine-syle video for “Idaho” sees the now quintet — guitarist Adam Aijala, bassist Ben Kaufmann, banjoist Dave Johnston, fiddler Allie Kral and mandolinist Nick Piccininni — performing the song remotely with an Idaho backdrop.
