The Benevento/Russo Duo will perform a livestream concert at Relix Studio this weekend. Drummer Joe Russo and keyboardist Marco Benevento‘s full acoustic set airs via FANS on Saturday, April 3 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
Benevento and Russo previewed the upcoming pay-per-view livestream with a 20-minute “pop-up set” on Monday afternoon. The Duo bookended yesterday’s brief performance with “Sunny’s Song” and “Best Reason To Buy The Sun.”
Marco and Joe formed the Benevento/Russo Duo in 2001 and toured regularly through 2007. The pair have played sporadically since with their last full set coming at the 2017 Suwannee Hulaween festival.
Both musicians are members of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead who are currently slated to return to the stage this May in New Haven. The Duo re-issued two mid-2000s studio albums last summer, as both 2005’s Best Reason To Buy The Sun and 2006’s Play Pause Stop are available in digital formats and on vinyl via Bandcamp.
