Sydney’s City Recital Hall has announced a new series titled Singular Voices, which will see four musicians performing in solo mode in the stunning concert venue.
The series will kick off on Sunday, 30th May with Marlon Williams, before Julia Jacklin delivers her first major solo performance on Friday, 4th June. The Go-Betweens‘ Robert Forster will play the venue on Saturday, 10th July, and Kee’ahn will close out the series with a performance on Saturday, 21st August.
“The greatest challenge for any singer-songwriter is to perform solo. It’s a tight-wire act. Anything can happen, and when you pull off a successful show, the exhilaration and sense of accomplishment is a very different feeling than when playing with a band,” says Forster, who released latest solo album Inferno back in 2019.
“To be doing this kind of performance in a venue as magical as City Recital Hall guarantees an unforgettable night for the audience and the performer.”
