Bassist Pino Palladino and multi-instrumentalist/producer Blake Mills have released their guest-filled, experimental collaboration album, Notes With Attachments, which arrived on Friday (3/12) via New Deal/Impulse.
The eight-track, 31-minute studio album was recorded at southern California’s famed Sound City Studios and other locations over the past two-and-a-half years and includes a number of talented guest musicians including drummer Chris Dave (D’Angelo, Anderson .Paak); keyboardist Larry Goldings (John Scofield); violinists Andrew Bird and Rob Moose; saxophonists Sam Gendel, Marcus Strickland, and Jacques Schwartz-Bart; and more.
Palladino and Mills have spent the past month and a half previewing the material included on the album by gradually releasing a mix of studio recordings and live performances for the tracks “Man From Molise”, “Ekuté”, “Just Wrong”, “Djurkel”, and “Off The Cuff”.
