Pino Palladino & Blake Mills Share Official Video For “Djurkel” Featuring Sam Gendel [Watch]

Pino Palladino and Blake Mills have shared their official video for “Djurkel”, one of the new experimental compositions included on the duo’s recently-released Notes With Attachments studio album.

In contrast to the composition’s live video shared earlier this year, the latest video released late last week has more of a polished finish to it. The 5:35 minute video directed by Justin Daashuur Hopkins focuses specifically on the various instrumentation being played by the two musicians joined by saxophonist Sam Gendel, without actually showing the faces of who is playing to allow the instruments to take the starring role.

Released earlier this month, the eight-tracks featured on Notes With Attachments were recorded at southern California’s famed Sound City Studios and other locations over the past two-and-a-half years, and feature performances from a number of talented guest musicians including drummer Chris Dave (D’Angelo, Anderson .Paak); keyboardist Larry Goldings (John Scofield); violinists Andrew Bird and Rob Moose; the above-mentioned Sam Gendel, Marcus Strickland, and Jacques Schwartz-Bart; and more.
