Watch Widespread Panic Bust Out ‘Feelin’ Alright’ Cover In Birmingham In 2011

91

Widespread Panic shared video of Traffic’s “Feelin’ Alright.” WSP busted out the cover during their April 15, 2011 concert at BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

Panic has shared a bevy of memorable videos from their 2011 tour itinerary including clips from their 25th anniversary run that year in Athens, Georgia. The band has also released footage from Alabama’s Oak Mountain and the subsequent show that took place at BJCC in Birmingham, which was moved from Oak Mountain due to inclement weather.

“Feelin’ Alright” is one of WSP’s oldest covers, debuted on February 24, 1985 at the A-Frame, Weymanda Court in Athens, as per Everyday Companion. While the song did not appear on any setlists in 1986, Panic played the song 15 times in 1987 and 43 times in 1988.

“Feelin’ Alright” remained a steady staple in the early ‘90s until it saw a five-year absence between 1991 and 1996 ahead of a resurgence in the late ‘90s. WSP, however, shelved the song after covering it on November 28, 2000 and did not play it again until Birmingham 2011 — to close out the first set — for a total of 749 shows. They have yet to play it since.
