Dave Matthews Band Announces Rescheduled 2021 Tour Beginning In July

79

Dave Matthews Band has announced rescheduled dates for its 2021 North American summer tour.

The July–November trek will feature a handful of the previously scheduled shows initially pushed from 2020 to 2021 as well as rescheduled dates for a number of stops and added performances in Tampa, FL and the Denver, CO area (Greenwood Village).

The announcement is yet another sign that concerts and tours may start getting underway in earnest once again in the late summer. While various dates initially scheduled for June and early July have been moved to later in the year, the updated 2021 DMB tour schedule—announced without specifically noted capacity limits or social distancing protocols—indicates expectations for a “normal” touring situation by the end of July.

The tour will kick off on July 23rd in Raleigh, NC at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek and include two-night runs in West Palm Beach, FL (7/30, 7/31), Chicago, IL (8/6, 8/7), Noblesville, IN (8/13, 8/14), Gilford, NH (8/24, 8/25), Irvine, CA (9/10, 9/11), and Saratoga Springs, NY (9/17, 9/18).

The band will also make its annual return to the Gorge Amphitheatre for its traditional three-night Labor Day run. DMB will be joined at the Gorge by supporting artists Dumpstaphunk and Allen Stone on Friday, Robert Randolph and the Family Band on Saturday, and Mavis Staples on Sunday.

The band has also canceled previously scheduled shows in Toronto, ON (6/23), Camden, NJ (6/25, 6/26), Vancouver, BC (9/1), The Woodlands, TX (9/17), Dallas, TX (9/18), Southaven, MS (9/22), Maryland Heights, MO (9/28), and Bonner Springs, KS (9/29).

Tickets for the newly added Tampa (7/28) and Denver/Greenwood Village (10/8, 10/9) go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. local venue time here.

As was intended in 2020 before the pandemic shut down the scheduled tour, Dave Matthews Band has once again pledged to plant another Million Trees, having fully funded a million trees in 2020. Along with support from DocuSign and Dreaming Tree Wines, the band is inviting fans to join them in this mission by adding an optional $2 to their ticket price to plant a tree with The Nature Conservancy as part of TNC’s “Plant a Billion” campaign. Fans can learn more about the campaign by visiting the Eco-Village on each stop of the tour, curated by REVERB, in partnership with DocuSign. For more information, head here.

In addition to planting one million trees, Dave Matthews Band, who was named a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador in 2019, will be neutralizing the biggest contributor to a concert’s carbon footprint—fan travel. On top of the band’s own footprint, REVERB will be calculating the carbon footprint associated with fan travel to DMB shows in 2021 and the band will be neutralizing these emissions by supporting carbon reduction projects.
