Dave Grohl and his mother Virginia Grohl are preparing for the release of their new show, From Cradle To Stage, on Paramount+ on May 6th. Just in time for Mother’s Day (May 9th), the show will explore the relationships between famous musicians and their mothers.
Based on Virginia’s 2017 book of the same name, the six-part documentary series finds the Grohls traveling North America to interview Brandi & Teresa Carlile, Tom & Mary Morello, Geddy Lee and Mary Weinrib, Dan & Christene Reynolds, Pharrell & Dr. Carolyn Williams, and Miranda & Bev Lambert.
“I believe that the relationship between a musician and their mother is so important because it’s the foundation of their understanding of love, which is surely every artist’s greatest muse,” Dave Grohl said in a press release. “Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed some light on the music that they inspired, but also made me appreciate the love that I was given from my own mother, my best friend. It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who have given us life. For without them, there would be no music.”
The mother-son team has also shared a brief teaser of From Cradle To Stage, set to premiere on Paramount+ on May 6th with an episode featuring Dan Reynolds (Imagine Dragons) and his mother Christene. Scroll down to see the full series rollout schedule.
