Lorde was Marlon Williams‘ special guest on Wednesday night at the Hollywood Avondale in Auckland, New Zealand. The duo teamed up to cover “Tougher Than The Rest” by Bruce Springsteen as part of the final show of Williams’ eight-night residency at the venue.
Last night marked Lorde’s first public performance since April 2019, when she joined Williams to duet on Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound Of Silence,” as per Consequence of Sound. Marlon has been touring his native New Zealand since February 25.
Bruce Springsteen originally wrote and recorded “Tougher Than The Rest” for his 1987 album, Tunnel Of Love. Williams played “Tougher Than The Rest” on piano last night. The pair shared vocal duties on the cover.
