Sufjan Stevens shared “Revelation II” today. The track is part of the singer-songwriter’s five-volume album, Convocations, and will appear on the third volume, Revelations, due out on Thursday, April 22 via Asthmatic Kitty.
Sufjan Stevens wrote and recorded Convocations in Fall 2020 as a tribute to his father who died in September just days after Stevens released his album, The Ascension. Stevens announced Convocations earlier this month and subsequently released the first and second volumes, Meditations and Lamentations.
Sufjan now previews Revelations with “Revelation II,” which, like other Convocations releases, arrived with a visualizer video taken from a longform generative video art piece created by Mexican artist Melissa Fuentes. Watch the visualizer for “Revelation II” below:
