Triple j Unearthed is running their DIY Supergroup competition again. The broadcaster is slinging samples from some of the best and brightest names in Aussie music.
If you’re keen to join in, all you have to do is pick your collaborators, download the sample pack, and assemble a song.
Triple j Unearthed specify you need to use samples from at least three of the artists. You have plenty to choose from vibes-wise though.
There’s loops, vocals, bars, and beats from Gang Of Youths, Lime Cordiale, Alison Wonderland, Genesis Owusu, San Cisco, Vallis Alps, and Touch Sensitive.
Then you just need to upload the track to triple j Unearthed by midnight on Sunday, 9th May. Oh and use the hashtag #DIYSupergroup so they can find it.
Last year’s Supergroup competition saw ROYBOY take out the top song. With samples offered up by Flume, Tame Impala, Amy Shark, Middle Kids, Tkay Maidza, The Jungle Giants, Tash Sultana and G Flip, they created ‘switchUP’.
Listen to ‘switchUP’ here, it’s a banger.
Finalists will be announced the week of Monday, 17th May. The winner will have their song played on triple j and triple j Unearthed radio.
Head to the broadcaster’s website to download those samples.
