Widespread Panic recently resumed the rollout of video from their 25th anniversary run in 2011. The latest features “Holden Oversoul” from the first set of their February 10 concert at the Classic Center in the band’s hometown of Athens, Georgia.
February 10 marked the first night of the three-show celebratory stand which continued on February 11 at the Classic Center. WSP wrapped up the run on February 14 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.
Fittingly, the 25th anniversary celebration featured a number of Panic’s vintage tunes and “Holden Oversoul” certainly counts among those. WSP debuted the song on March 22, 1988 and played it over 70 times that year alone, as per Everyday Companion. “Holden Oversoul” has been played every year since 1988 save for 2003 (and 2004 when the band did not tour) for a grand total of 778 plays to date.
