moe. kicked off their 2021 Tour with the first of two concerts at The Caverns Above Ground Amphitheater in Pelham, Tennessee on Friday. The Buffalo-bred jam act bookended both sets with a pair of classics.

moe. — guitarists Chuck Garvey and Al Schnier, bassist Rob Derhak, drummer Vinnie Amico and percussionist Jim Loughlin — kicked off the Chuck setlist with the Derhak penned classic “Plane Crash.” The nearly fully segued set continued with “Mar-DeMa,” “Bullet,” “Tubing The River Styx,” “The Pit” and “Dangerous Game.” “Lazarus” would come ahead of a return to “Plane Crash” to bookend the set.

The Schnier-composed classic “Recreational Chemistry” commenced the second frame and led into “New Hope For The New Year.” Next, “Billy Goat” launched a seamless section that included the staple, “Tailspin.” Relatively new tune “LL3″ from the band’s 2020 album This Is Not, We Are would stand alone before “ATL” led into “Recreational Chemistry” to once again bookend the set. The vintage “Bearsong” served as the encore.
