Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker has thanked the Fremantle Dockers for naming him #1 Ticket Holder by writing them a new song.
The news was announced at Fremantle’s game yesterday against the Sydney Swans. Sharing the news to Instagram, Parker wrote, “Incredibly honoured to be the new Fremantle Dockers #1 ticket holder.”
“I will cherish this forever. Hope the fans like the song. Go Freo.”
‘FREO anthem’ is a riff-driven, classic footy song with a spicy Kevin Parker twist to it.
Freo Dockers shared an interview with Parker. He said, “For long as I can remember, I’ve been a Dockers supporter.”
“One of the first things that I was thinking about when the invitation for #1 ticket holder came up was ‘How can I give back to the club? What can I contribute?’”
“I’m just a fan obviously, but I’ve got a good feeling,” said Parker on the club’s season. “Just watching them against the Hawks, I feel like if they keep playing like that, then the sky’s the limit.”
