Karnivool are gearing up for their much-hyped livestream event ‘The Decade Of Sound Awake’, and today they’ve given fans the first taste of it with a clip of their performance of ‘Goliath’.
Goliath serves as the second track taken from the band’s seminal second album Sound Awake. The forthcoming livestream event will be celebrating that body of work, with the band performing it in its entirety.
The livestream will give fans globally the chance to see the band take on Perth’s Heath Ledger Theatre, where they’ll also perform fan favourite cut ‘Fade’ and debut some new material.
“Diving back into Sound Awake as a complete performance was a sweet reminder of the layers and complexity that make it one of our most important releases,” frontman Ian Kenny said of the event.
“The music pushes and pulls in complex directions, I continue to find something new when lost in its emotional turbulence.”
Seeing as the band were supposed to take the album on a tour, and then having to reschedule it twice before scrapping it completely, ‘The Decade Of Sound Awake’ feels like an apt compromise.
Tickets for the event are on sale now. The livestream will kick off at 8pm AEST on Wednesday, 12th May.
