Black Pumas Perform ‘Colors’ On ‘The Late Late Show’

93

Austin’s Black Pumas were among the guests on Monday’s The Late Late Show With James Corden. The duo consisting of Eric Burton and Adrian Quesada spoke with host James Corden via video chat before turning in a remote performance of their Grammy-nominated song “Colors.”

Eric and Adrian were not only joined by their touring band for “Colors,” they also were augmented by a six-piece horn section. Black Pumas originally released the song on their self-titled debut studio album in 2019.

Burton and Quesada spoke with Corden about performing in front of a full audience again recently at Stubb’s in their hometown of Austin. “The nerves come back, but to tell you the truth there was this overwhelming feeling of warmth,” Adrian told James. The host then brought out a picture showing Adrian using a Oujia board. “It’s such a load of shit,” Corden said regarding the board game. The pair also discussed working on the long-awaited follow-up to Black Pumas.
