Dr. Dog Confirms Final Tour

82

There’s both good news and bad news for Dr. Dog fans. While the Philadelphia-based rockers announced an extensive fall tour, the band will make a “graceful exit from touring” after this final tour, dubbed the “Last Tour.”

“It is a disturbing thing to read, I’m sure, and trust me, an equally unsettling thing to write, but it’s all good,” reads a note on Dr. Dog’s social channels. “It’s important to us that you understand that this is not a break up or anything like that. We don’t know what Dr. Dog will do, we just know it won’t include going on tour, except the tour we’re announcing now, which is going to rule.”

The Last Tour begins in earnest after the group’s August appearance at Goose’s FRED the Festival with concerts in Albany on September 8 and New York City on August 9. Next, Dr. Dog heads to Tennessee to play the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion and Moon River festivals. The band then performs in Atlanta and Washington D.C. ahead of a set at Sea.Hear.Now in Asbury Park, New Jersey. September ends for Dr. Dog with stops in Northampton, Massachusetts; South Burlington, Vermont; Boston; Buffalo; Cleveland and Nashville.

Dr. Dog resumes their farewell excursion with two-night stands in Chicago October 18 – 19 and Minneapolis October 20 – 21. From there, the band ends October with visits to Kansas City, Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Santa Ana (California) and San Francisco. November for Dr. Dog includes stops in Seattle, Portland (Oregon), Salt Lake City, Boulder, Oklahoma City, Dallas and Austin. A four-night hometown New Year’s Run consists of performances at the Theatre of the Living Arts on December 28 and 29 and at Union Transfer on December 30 and 31.

Pre-sales begin tomorrow (Tuesday, June 8) using the code “DRDOGLIVE” at 12 p.m. ET. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, June 11 at 12 p.m. local time.
