Shark Week is coming. The Discovery Channel has revealed its schedule for the week and events include the Jackass Shark Week Special, which sounds like the kind of crossover that can only end in blood and despair, given it will feature Jackass cast members swimming with the ocean’s most storied apex predator.
The Jackass Shark Week Special is set for the first day of Discovery’s annual broadcast event, July 11. It’s part of a laundry list of fascinating and just plain strange crossovers (like Dr. Pimple Popper, for some reason), adding up to more than 45 hours of shark-infested fun.
Here’s Discovery’s synopsis of the Jackass special:
Johnny Knoxville sends Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and new Jackass cast members on a Shark Week mission for the ages. They’ll dial up a series of shark stunts that test their bravery and threshold of pain as they put common shark myths to the test with the help of Dr. Craig O’Connell. Produced by Jeff Tremaine and Anomaly Entertainment.
Entertainment Weekly quoted an apparently still-intact Steve-O, who said they “went all out” for the special “there were consequences” for doing so. He’s confident the show will “be a hit.”
