Bassist Jean-Luc Davis is the newest member of The Lil Smokies. Davis replaces Scott Parker, who along with banjoist Matt Cornette recently parted ways with the band.
The Lil Smokies now consists of dobroist Andy Dunnigan, guitarist Matt “Rev” Rieger, fiddler Jake Simpson, Davis and recent addition banjoist Kyle Tuttle. Jean-Luc Davis was formerly a member of both the Jeff Austin Band and The Railsplitters.
“Couldn’t be more excited about this lad on the low end; we think you’ll see why very soon,” exclaimed The Lil Smokies in a statement announcing Jean-Luc’s addition. Both Scott Parker and Matt Cornette shared notes in April explaining their decisions to leave The Lil Smokies.
The Lil Smokies will focus on festival appearances this summer.
