The Tragically Hip Share ‘Ouch’ Video

51

The Tragically Hip released the video for their song “Ouch.” The track appears on the renowned Canadian rockers’ recently released six-song collection Saskadelphia, featuring outtakes from the band’s 1991 sophomore album Road Apples.

A Revolver Films production, the music video for “Ouch” features actors and Tragically Hip fans Jay Baruchel and Rebecca-Jo Dunham-Baruchel as well as comedian and Canadian TV personality Rick Mercer. Sara Basso handled directing duties for the visual.

“I wanted the video to be something that long-time fans of The Tragically Hip would appreciate,” Basso said in a statement regarding the video, “but also create intrigue for a younger audience to connect with the historic moment when a small town Canadian band flipped everything on its head and got the whole world listening. The track has a rebellious and audacious tone, which I felt required an off-beat narrative; a tongue-in-cheek thriller, contemporary, with nods to 30 years ago.”

The video features over 30 Easter eggs that connect to The Tragically Hip universe and mythos. Fans are encouraged to find them and share them in the comments across the band’s social platforms.
