Universe Peoples Share ‘Cosmic’ 1st Set From April 2021 Concert In San Diego

63

Universe Peoples completed the video rollout of their recent space-themed concert in San Diego. The Southern California-based band shared the first set from their April 3, 2021 concert at the Connect San Diego art gallery.

uP previously shared video of the second set from their San Diego show which took place on 4/3/21. The countdown date spurred the band and co-host Space Traveler Studios to add a comsmic theme to the concert which also saw the quartet counting off songs backward, 4…3…2…1. Staying true to the backward theme, uP shared the sets in reverse order with the first set as the final installment.

The first set contained covers from a trio of jam titans kicking off with Phish’s “Mike’s Song” followed by the Grateful Dead’s “Eyes Of The World” and later featuring “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” by The Allman Brothers Band. The set also boasted uP originals like “Julie” as well as the live debut of “MOMU,” which was written by uP drummer Garrett Morris on his birthday this year just before the San Diego show and was also included in The Mockingbird Foundation’s recent livestream special Mockingbird Sessions. The set wraps up with Ween’s “Roses Are Free.”
