Singer-songwriter Allison Russell appeared on CBS This Morning: Saturday Sessions. Russell performed songs from her recently released album, Outside Child, for the morning music program.
While Montreal native Allison Russell is a founding member of the critically acclaimed groups Our Native Daughters — with Rhiannon Giddens, Leyla McCalla and Amythyst Kiah — as well as Birds of Chicago, Outside Child is the singer-songwriter’s solo debut album. The record arrived on May 21 and JamBase recently had a chance to chat with Russell for The Jambase Podcast.
For her CBS appearance, Allison performed three tracks off Outside Child. The Saturday Session includes “The Runner,” “4th Day Prayer” and “Nightflyer.”
