Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers reimagined Angel Dream album arrived today via Warner Records. The reworked LP features songs from the 1996 release Songs and Music from the Motion Picture She’s The One.
The original soundtrack to the movie She’s The One saw Tom Petty and Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell continuing their work with renowned producer Rick Rubin, a relationship that also produced Petty’s landmark 1994 solo album Wildflowers. Petty also worked with longtime engineer Ryan Ulyate on the mixes that would become Angel Dream.
A preview of the album, “Angel Dream (No. 2),” arrived last month and the album also features previously unreleased Petty originals “One of Life’s Little Mysteries,” “105 Degrees” and more. Additionally, Angel Dream contains covers including JJ Cale’s “Thirteen Days,” Lucinda Williams’ “Change The Locks” and more.
