Sturgill Simpson Announces 3 Concerts At Ryman Auditorium

94

Sturgill Simpson will return to the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for three concerts this fall. Simpson’s three-night stand at the historic venue is slated for November 18 – 20.

Tickets for the run go on sale today (Friday, July 23) at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster (November 18, November 19, November 20). Sturgill played a livestream concert with his bluegrass band at The Ryman on June 5, 2020.

Simpson recently announced The Ballad Of Dood And Juanita, his third studio album in 12 months. The singer-songwriter’s 10-track concept album arrives digitally and on CD August 20. A vinyl release is set for December 3.

“I just wanted to write a story—not a collection of songs that tell a story, but an actual story, front to back,” Sturgill said of the follow-up to a pair of Cuttin’ Grass LPs he put out last year. Simpson recorded The Ballad Of Dood And Juanita with the same musicians who backed him on both Cuttin’ Grass volumes.
