Goose Welcomes Dawes Members At LOCKN’ Farm & Plotting Goosemas VIII At Arena

134

Goose’s inaugural FRED The Festival continued on Saturday night at the LOCKN’ Farm in Arrington, Virginia. Goose welcomed members of FRED performers Dawes at the end of their second set. In other Goose news, a Pollstar profile on the band revealed that they will make their arena debut at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun for this year’s Goosemas VIII.

The Connecticut quintet kicked things off at FRED on Saturday with “Yeti” followed by an extensive “Drive” stretching to 24 minutes and giving way to “Rosewood Heart.” Goose then unveiled a cover of David Gray’s “Please Forgive Me” ahead of both parts of “Seekers On The Ridge.” The jam vehicle “Arrow” closed out the first set.

Another 20 plus minute excursion on “Creatures” got the jam-heavy, four-song second frame underway followed by the funky “Hot Tea.” Goose then welcomed Dawes guitarist Taylor Goldsmith and drummer Griffin Goldsmith, who manned Jeffrey Arevalo’s kit, for “This Old Sea.”

Taylor would add some tight harmonies on the poignant “This Old Sea” alongside guitarist Rick Mitarotonda before the collaborators got into an atmospheric jam with Taylor and Rick playing well off each other. The set would come to a close with The Band’s version of “Don’t Do It” which once again saw Taylor and Rick singing together.
