Happy Birthday Jennifer Hartswick: Performing ‘Live From The Lab’ With Nick Cassarino

124

Jennifer Hartswick celebrates her birthday today. Hailing from Vermont, the renowned trumpeter and vocalist is perhaps best known as a longtime member of the Trey Anastasio Band but has become a highly sought after collaborator in the jam scene and beyond, adding her soulful vocals and powerful trumpeting on stage with Phish, Umphrey’s McGee, The Allman Brothers Band, The String Cheese Incident and many more.

But JHa has also led a successful solo career. In September 2018, Hartswick released her album Nexus, which featured fellow Vermont native, longtime friend and guitarist Nick Cassarino, among others. Not long after Hartswick released Nexus, she and Cassarino stopped by the South Windsor, Connecticut facility of high end microphone manufacturer TELEFUNKEN to film a set of songs off Nexus for TELEFUNKEN’s Live From The Lab video series.

The session includes Nexus opening track and lead single “You Can’t Take It Back.” JHa and Nick also perform “Numb” and “Silent Waves,” the LP’s second and third tracks respectively. Additionally, the TELEFUNKEN play features the album’s penultimate number, “Drowning.”
