Jeff Austin Band’s ‘Do Not Let The Body Grow Cold’ EP Available On Streaming Services

Today, the Jeff Austin Estate released the Jeff Austin Band‘s 2016 EP Do Not Let The Body Grow Cold on all streaming services for the first time. The eight-track, theatrically-inspired concept album contains four original songs along with four “chapters” featuring narration by acclaimed voice actor John DiMaggio (Futurama, Adventure Time).

Austin, who tragically passed away in 2019, recorded the EP with his eponymous band in the Fall of 2015. The Jeff Austin Band’s lineup at the time consisted of Jeff on mandolin, guitarist Ross Martin, Ryan Cavanaugh on banjo and bassist Max Johnson. Do Not Let The Body Grow Cold has been available on CD since originally issued in the Summer of 2016.

“Jeff came to me with this idea after we collaborated on his contribution to my documentary I KNOW THAT VOICE where he performed and wrote the theme song. He wanted to do something different for DNLTBGC, and approached me about doing a narration in between songs, like a theatre piece,” DiMaggio explained. “Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity, and we went from there.”

“I recorded it from home, sent it off, expecting to hear back any notes or suggestions of possible re-recordings, only to get a massive thumbs up from Jeff,” DiMaggio added. “When I heard the finished product, I was thrilled. Jeff and I clicked from when we first met, and working with him was an absolute joy, but being his friend meant even more. I miss him very much, as does everyone that has ever met him or seen him perform.”

A poster celebrating the digital release designed by Half Hazard Press is available for purchase via JeffAustin.com. The limited-edition signed and numbered print is the second in the Jeff Austin Legacy Poster Series.
