Phish Performs ‘Tweezer’ In Alpharetta: Pro-Shot Video

Phish unveiled official video of the monster +30-minute “Tweezer” from their Sunday night concert in Alpharetta, Georgia. The band’s fourth longest jam since 2009 came towards the beginning of their second set at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre.

Sunday marked the third Phish concert in a row with a song that spanned over 20 minutes. “Carini” was the improvisational highlight of Friday’s show in Oak Mountain, while Saturday’s performance in Alpharetta featured a +26-minute “Chalk Dust Torture.”

JamBase contributor Ben Greenfield described the mammoth “Tweezer” in his recap:

After an unusually placed “More” to open the second set, the long-awaited first “Tweezer” of 2021 made up for lost time, cramming 18 months’ worth of “Tweezer” jams into one incredible odyssey. The jam had many segments — its length and relentless creativity brought to mind the version played in Lake Tahoe on July, 31 2013 — drifting from funk, to blissful psychedelia, to fist-pumping rock, and even a brief jam on “Esther.” But, like the Tahoe version, the Alpharetta “Tweezer”‘s signature section was a groove near the end. As Fishman and Gordon locked in on a thick groove and Page twirled between his keyboards, Trey flipped between funk chords and a pitch shifter that made his guitar sound like a bass. The jam immediately joined the “Tweezer” pantheon.
