The Black Crowes Perform ‘Walk Believer Walk’ For 1st Time Since 2013

98

The Black Crowes‘ latest stop on their reunion tour took place at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California on Sunday night. Chris Robinson, Rich Robinson and company continue to dig into the back catalog and busted out “Walk Believer Walk” for the first time since 2013 at Shoreline.

The tour, which was originally scheduled for 2020, comes in celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Black Crowes’ 1990 debut album Shake Your Money Maker. Chris, Rich, bassist Sven Pipien, guitarist Isaiah Mitchell, keyboardist Joel Robinow, drummer Brian Griffin and backing vocalists Mackenzie Adams and Leslie Grant open each show by performing Shake Your Money Maker in its entirety before focusing on other material from their catalog.

“No Speak No Slave” and “My Morning Song” from 1992’s The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion followed the Shake Your Money Maker portion of the evening at Shoreline. Bay Area Crowes fans were then treated to the return of “Walk Believer Walk,” a song off 2008’s Warpaint last played by the band on October 2, 2013 in New Orleans as per Crowesbase.

Amorica classic “Wiser Time” featuring band introductions came next. The Black Crowes then went back to The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion in closing their set with “Thorn In My Pride,” “Sting Me” and “Remedy.” A cover of The Rolling Stones’ “It’s Only Rock & Roll (But I Like It)” served as the encore.
