Waxahatchee (Katie Crutchfield) covered HAIM’s “The Steps” during her set on Saturday at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City. Others on the bill that evening included Bright Eyes and Lucy Dacus. Waxahatchee was added in replace of Japanese Breakfast.
Waxahatchee is touring in support of her album, Saint Cloud, and her set focused on songs from the 2020 release. One departure was the cover of Haim’s “The Steps,” which the trio of siblings recorded for their 2020 LP, Women In Music, Pt. III. Among those in the band supporting Katie Crutchfield was her twin sister, multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Allison Crutchfield of Swearin’.
