Austin City Limits has revealed its lineup for season 47, featuring performances by Billy Strings, Khruangbin, Jon Batiste, Brittany Howard, and more. The newest season of the landmark PBS concert program will begin on October 2nd at 9 p.m. ET with a special presentation of Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram, and Jon Randall performing selections from their new album, The Marfa Tapes.
This coming 13-episode season of Austin City Limits sees a crop of fresh faces including Charley Crockett, Brandy Clark, Leon Bridges, and more performing in front of a limited audience. The programming continues on October 9th with a doubleheader of Jade Bird and Dayglow, followed on the 16th by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert bandleader Jon Batiste, who will perform with an 18-piece band.
Sarah Jarosz and Billy Strings comprise the October 23rd episode ahead of Brandy Clark and Charley Crockett on the 30th. One-time musical partners Leon Bridges and Khruangbin split the billing on November 6th prior to the triumphant return of Jackson Browne, who will grace the ACL stage for the first time in 20 years on the 20th. Finally, the first half of Austin City Limits season 47 wraps with Brittany Howard on November 20th. The second half of the season 47 lineup will be announced separately.
“The world is still fighting its way out of this pandemic, but Austin City Limits is back—without missing a beat,” says longtime executive producer Terry Lickona. “As always, we love to mix things up with some remarkable new talent as well as fan favorites, along with a few surprises. ACL celebrates the return of live music!”
The new season of Austin City Limits premieres on October 2nd at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
