Courtney Barnett today shared the new single “Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To” along with an accompanying video. The track lands on the Australian singer-songwriter’s Things Take Time, Take Time album which arrives via Mom+Pop Music / Marathon Artists on November 12.
Barnett spent two years prepping the material featured on her third studio album. The 10-track follow-up to 2018’s Tell Me How You Really Feel was recorded late last year and early this year at sessions held in Sydney, Northern NSW and Melbourne with producer/drummer Stella Mozgawa.
The title of Courtney’s new single came from a technique Barnett used to escape a period of depression. “I found a deeper communication with people in my life – deeper conversations,” Barnett explained about how she felt once she got out of the funk. “And a new level of gratitude for friendships that had been there for so long that I had maybe taken for granted.”
Barnett, who begins a North American tour in November, tapped Christina Xing to put together a visual for the track. Check out the “Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To” video below:
