Howlin Rain released a live performance video featuring “Don’t Let The Tears.” The song is the latest single from the band’s forthcoming The Dharma Wheel album which drops via Silver Current Records on October 8.

The latest Howlin Rain lineup — consisting of frontman/guitarist Ethan Miller, drummer Justin Smith, guitarist Jason Soda and bassist Kyre Wilcox — performed “Don’t Let The Tears” at Los Angeles’ Palomino Sound facility on August 31. Tylre Wilcox and Ryan Borrell shot and edited the footage. Fritz Michaud and Soda recorded the audio with Michaud handling mixing and mastering duties.

“‘Don’t Let the Tears’ is the quintessential example of the joy location on the map of The Dharma Wheel album,” noted Miller in a statement accompanying the single. “Lyrically, it’s a bit of a nod to the poetry of Kenneth Patchen and Richard Brautigan, like a loose twist of tragedy and comedy barreling forth sincerely in a high energy, absurdist yawp. Musically it’s intended as a potent, fast-acting pill of spirit rejuvenation for the listener—a bubbling, liquid labyrinth of sonic delights and music as a celebration of music.”
