Jon Fishman Aboard For Remaining Trey Anastasio Band Fall Tour Dates

68

Phish drummer Jon Fishman will join the Trey Anastasio Band for the rest of the group’s current tour. Fish replaces TAB drummer Russ Lawton who will miss the dates after testing positive for COVID-19.

Anastasio performed last night’s show in Columbus solo acoustic. The tour continues tonight at Stage AE in Pittsburgh and also includes concerts at The Anthem in Washington D.C. this Friday, October 1 and at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall this Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3.

TAB kicked off the tour in Portland, Maine on September 17 sporting a new lineup. Bassist Dezron Douglas joined the group in the wake of co-founding bassist Tony Markellis‘ death in April, while saxophonist was tapped to keep James Casey‘s seat warm as Casey had to miss the tour to undergo colon cancer treatment.

Vocalist/trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend leading TAB to perform without a horn section for the remainder of the tour starting with this past Saturday’s concert in Charlotte, North Carolina. The group played two shows as a quintet before Lawton tested positive. Anastasio will be backed by Fishman on drums, Douglas on bass, keyboardist Ray Paczkowski and percussionist Cyro Baptista through the Radio City shows.
