Luke The Knife Releases New EP ‘Feel So Strong’

72

Luke the Knife (Luke Miller of Lotus) dropped a surprise EP today, Feel So Strong, via Bandcamp. The lead track, “I Don’t Need It,” features Magic Beans keyboardist Casey Russell.

The five tracks on Feel So Strong emerged from the same writing sessions as Disco Nap, Miller’s June 2021 debut LP under his Luke The Knife moniker. Luke Miller wrote, produced and mixed the album with analog mixing from his brother and Lotus bandmate Jesse Miller.

Luke detailed the new EP in a statement:

I wrote these tracks while working on Disco Nap during the pandemic lockdown. They all have a shared DNA of disco and funk mixed with my DJ/Producer techniques. These songs feature more live instruments including guitar, bass, and various keyboards, so it felt like they belonged together on a separate collection. When I first started Luke the Knife I did a lot of edits and remixes of old disco songs. This EP is the next evolution of that, creating original songs in the disco-funk edit style.
