Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ Turns 30 Today, Gets Deluxe Reissue

Today, the 24th September is the 30th Anniversary of Nirvana’s second studio album and most iconic release, Nevermind.

Geffen/UMe are commemorating the special occasion with a deluxe reissue of the album. It’ll be freshly remastered and comes with a bunch of unreleased live recordings.

It’ll drop on Friday, 12th November and you can pre-order it now. There’s a bunch of different bundles you can pick up. Grab one LP and a 7-inch, two CDs, five CDs, or an eight-LP Super Deluxe bundle.

The five-CD and eight-LP releases come with four complete live shows. These feature the band Live in Amsterdam, Netherlands (November 25th, 1991), Live in Del Mar, California (December 28th, 1991), Live in Melbourne, Australia for triple j (February 1st, 1992), and Live in Tokyo, Japan (February 19th, 1992).

Both super deluxe sets come with a Blu-ray of the Netherlands concert which has newly remastered audio and HD video. The vinyl edition adds a bonus 7-inch with ‘Endless, Nameless’, ‘Even In His Youth’ and ‘Aneurysm’.

Very interestingly, the reissued releases all feature the original artwork. It follows the surviving members of Nirvana, Courtney Love, the Estate of Kurt Cobain, and photographer, Kirk Weddle each being named in a lawsuit pertaining to the image used on the Nevermind album cover.

Just one month ago, Spencer Elden, the naked baby on the cover, filed a lawsuit against those mentioned above for child sexual exploitation.
