Sturgill Simpson Cancels Outlaw Music Festival & Farm Aid 2021 Performances
Sturgill Simpson was forced to cancel Outlaw Music Festival and Farm Aid appearances due to vocal issues.
Simpson previously indicated he had “completely” lost his voice before his absence at the Outlaw Fest stop in Charlotte on September 19. In addition to backing out of subsequent Outlaw Fest stops and tomorrow’s Farm Aid concert, Simpson will no longer hold a five-night residency at Webster Hall set to start on Tuesday, September 28, or his three-show run at The Ryman that was set to start on November 18.
Simpson has been touring in support of his 2021 album, The Ballad Of Dood & Juanita and his two-volume Cuttin’ Grass bluegrass records released last year. Simpson earned the Album Of The Year award this week at the 2021 Americana Awards & Honors ceremony for Cuttin’ Grass – Vol. 1 (The Butcher Shoppe Sessions).
